DIY Mini One To Cooper S?

Hello, Im thinking of buying (Or My Dads Buying Me) a Mini One In Black 2007 plate+, I want to make it look like a Mini Cooper S as much as i can..

What things do i need to buy?

If you could give examples, prices, links to anything i would be very grateful

- I would get insured on a Cooper S if i could but i cant because im turning 17 in January 2011.

Thank you.

Are you going to tell your insurance company of the mods

I know a chap who S'd his MINI one and when he knocked it, his insurance didn't pay out. He sorted the work out himself and when he re-insured the car (correctly) he would have been better off just buying the S because the premium was just as high.

it will be possible not only to make it look like Cooper S - you can also look for different body-styles like Hamman etc.

or you could go for a personal body-kit designed for mini

remember two things - first if it is cooper one it won't go faster than cooper one even if it would look like bentley. and another thing - cooper S parts don't come cheap.

I would personally go for a personalized mini cooper body-kit

Don't be a poser by fitting a Cooper S bonnet.

Rather than buying Cooper S bumpers, grill and sideskirts, just have the JCW Aero Kit fitted. Also replace the gas cap with chrome Cooper S one.

You can look up part numbers on RealOEM and price them here.

I agree, just get the JCW kit fitted to it.

Also on the insurance, are you sure you cant get insured on the S? Insurance companies love to stamp excessive premiums on to modded cars. Search harder! But the £9K, don't think you will get a 2007 S and insurance with that?

you wont get insured on a cooper S.... the majority of company's will flatly refuse to insure you, and if one does then it will cost in excess or like 7k a year for a first time 17 year old driver......

Dont make a mini one look like a cooper s...thats the worst.

Just save all the money you'd waste on the one and save up for a MCS and insurance.

Or just don't waste all that money on a car and spend it on enjoying your life and travelling, then when you can actually afford the car you want, do it!
