LED Sidelights & Number Plate lights

Hey everyone, I got some LEDs fitted to my MCS and they make so much difference, I think they should already have LEDs on MCS models... I thought I share them with you all, here I got few snaps, the quality of photos may not be very well, as I took them with my iPhone..

If anyone interested of upgrading theirs, I have purchased them of ebay (links below) and the service was excellent and very quick.

Number Plate LEDs:

CANBUS LED NUMBER/LICENCE PLATE BULBS BMW MINI COOPER on eBay (end time 12-Feb-11 16:21:25 GMT)

Sidelights:

MINI LED SIDELIGHTS NO WARNING ERROR MESSAGE T10 on eBay (end time 21-Feb-11 23:59:14 GMT)

Hi turk, where did you get your headlight surrounds from? Did you purchase rear ones as well?

Hi again,

I will be uploading few more pictures later on tonight with the main headlights on too.

spikeyadrian - Yes they are road legal.

Abi T - Thank you, these were a well good investment and only cost 20 in total

scottp7 - My friend got a bodyshop and he sprayed them for me gloss black, if you want yours spraying let me know, I think I am going to get them sprayed matt black soon as well, because I got my headlights sprayed matt black not while ago so I think they will look better in matt black as well as getting my door handles and fuel filler cap matt black

Always ready for a Mini adventure!!

I'm thinking of getting the number plate LEDS. Were they difficult to fit? I pretty much have no electrical experience. Do they come with instructions or anything?

How much is your friend quoting?
I'm a bit afraid whether or not I should go ahead with it as it maybe too much black on my car would be interested in the door handles too!

Hey all, took some more pictures with the headlights on tonight, unfortunately taking photos towards Xenon lights are not so clever as you probably can see from the pictures, I probably need to take some more with further away from the car I suppose.. Oh, I also uploaded a comparison with LED on one side and non LED on the other

scottp7 - I will ask him tomorrow and get back to you with the prices

muse2me - yes newMiniStuff got door handles sprayed in black as well as headlight surrounds but they are a bit pricey and also changing your door handles are absolutely a pain, it includes stripping all the interior bits of your door off and taking your window off the frame, I think its like a 4hr job if you know what you doing .. The way I will be getting my door handles done be, masking the door and spraying the door handles, a lot easier a lot cheaper

I could also look into buying headlight surrounds and get it sprayed in colour of your choice and post them to you and buy yours of you so if any of you guys interested I can get some prices.

Just changed my sidelights and door puddle lights for leds and the result is great - very bright and very white (almost whiter than the xenon headlights!). However, I was careful to order CANBus compatible ones (they have built-in 221 [220 ohm] resistors in parallel with the leds) but they still flag up a bulb warning. Anyone had the same problem with these supposed error-free ones?
