What does VELVET SILVER look like????

Has anyone seen the new Velvet Silver color supposedly being introduced in March? The dealer says they have no idea. How can they be introducing a color in one month and no one know what the color is?

Don't know the color but it looks pretty good. And i like it. I was not aware of this color before unleast i saw the pic here.

It just looks like another 'beigey' colour to me, not really my cup of tea.
With Laser Blue probably on its way out there are so few vibrant colours in the range - I wonder if BMW are doing this deliberately to encourage people to pay extra and go down the MINI Yours route for a more specialised finish.

Is this a computer generated colour as it looks totally different to the MotoringFile picture? The computer generated colours tend not to be that accurate if the Eclipse Grey MINI configurator colour is anything to go by. Anyhows, I still like Velvet Silver whether it's the MotoringFile version or the Flickr one. Could turn to love.

i just got a clubman in velvet silver. here is a picture of the actual color. it's like sparkling silver only darker. the lighter colored mini next to it is the old discontinued sparkling silver.

i have just taken delivery of my clubman pictured above. i must say, these pictures do not do the color justice. in direct sunlight it looks like the color shown. in the shade it looks similar to sparkling silver, and at night it looks completely silver. it is an amazing color. it's like the opposite of what makes sense. the more sun light there is, the darker the color appears. if the only light is like a fluorescent light or from a light bulb, the car still appears silver. it only darkens in actual sunlight.

I'm debating this colour prior to ordering a One D. Concerned it might be a bit too gold? I haven't seen any out and about in the wild.

Nor have I, although from the pics I've seen, I really like it.

Might be worth calling around a few dealers locally to see if any of them have a a Velvet Silver demo? Saying that, I regularly pass a couple of different dealerships and haven't spotted one on either forecourt yet...
