England 3rd party spot lights on a 2012 R56 effecting warranty?

Can anyone help me I have bought a brand new 2012 Mini cooper R56 chilli Red, white striped + white roof + mirrors 12 plate, I am looking at getting some spot lights 2x (not 4) I have seen online where to get hold of some I think, advertising that they don't require drilling, mounting a new grill at the front or running it through the ECU.
If I have them will this invalidate my warranty? because I don't want to mess up my new car for using none-gen parts

probably best to ask the Mini dealer to be safe!

The only effect it should have, and that's a stretch, is if there is an issue related to the electrical system, specifically as it related to lighting.

For example, if your motor pops, they can't void your warranty because of lights.

I recently bought an 07 r56 cooper which came with spotlights

I assumed they were genuine, but on closer inspection they appear to be "Maxtel" who make spotlights for the old Mini.

Anyway - I'm not sure which ones you are planning to buy (or have bought) but I would say don't buy them, these ones are crap.

They wobble about like crazy because the bracket is only attached with one bolt and in general they look like a botched job.

I'll be removing mine.

EDIT. should also add they actually stopped working the other day

^^^nice to know I'm toying with genuine oem and aftermarket spots at present.

Anyone else had any experience of aftermarket ones?
