A while back I noticed one of my spot lights had been smashed. The spotlight still works and just needed a replacement bulb.
Does anybody know of anywhere you can buy just the glass front for spotlights. I have seen the full kits but only need the glass.
This was done prior to me buying the mini and don't think they are official mini spot lights as the mini logo is not on the glass, which I have seen on others online.
Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
You would need to find out what make they are for a start, if you think they might not be MINI, but I doubt you can buy just glass lens, they like you to buy the whole lot these days.
Cant find just the lens listed where Ive looked
The make might be cast into the glass somewhere, small at the bottom perhaps?
Or take the front off and see if anything is marked inside on the back of the reflector.
They were fitted to some early MINIs apparently, they are of chinese manufacture and there is a web for Jute Industrial Co listing those lights
Have a look, maybe you can order some direct from China, should be good quality too, none of your British rubbish
I've seen them on there website but not sure if I can buy directly from them. Would have to contact them and ask.
I phoned my mini dealer to get a quote however they needed the part number. Apparantly jute 1964 isn't it. I've found a sticker on the inside but not sure if 06042703 would be the part number.
I would imagine MINi will only sell you the whole light if they can get it, no idea what the part number for the whole unit is though.
Jute Industrial site does list the light and the sealed beam unit with lens, and the do have a web site, I suppose you could send them a mail and enquire, no harm in asking.
If they only sell bulk maybe they can tell you of a distributor?
Failing that you could always renew the pair with ones Minisport now do for the R53 as a pair of spots with fitting kit for £91?
So I have tried contacting Jute which was easier said than done. Their website says "email us for more information" and the email address is not listed. So I found their US site, have emailed them but no reply.
I contacted mini to get a quote, £284!, I think they might have qutoed me for the headlight rather than lamp. Might contact some breakers yards to see if they have any.
