Hi there , after getting prices for all the bits , I decided to do it myself on my black R56 Cooper S.
The front light surrounds were easy, they unclip with bonnet up and are easily painted or covered in vinyl wrap ( i wrapped them ). The rear light surrounds also pop off easily and are good for painting . Same goes for the fuel filler cap , it twists off easily for painting . Side indicators slide off too so easy . Hardest was the chrome waist line : couldn't get this off so matted it out with flexible bumper paint. The door handles have yet to be done as these appear to be difficult to take off .
Grilles etc., I bought .
The overall effect is awesome !

Good luck

Awesome to some but looks unfinished to others, its all in the eye of the beholder.
Dont do anything you cant easily reverse as it might affect its future resaleability.
