After an uncomfortably close call this weekend, I have come to realize I need a skid plate to protect my Mini's oil pan from the rustic conditions of parking lots and roads of Alaska. I went over too high a rock, and amazingly only knocked the oil pan plug loose - the local mechanic was able to tighten it so it quit leaking and it's been fine for 2 days so far.
I found a skid plate on minimania .com: Part No: G2NMX4700 (the forum won't let me post a link because I haven't made 15 posts on this forum)
But was wondering if anyone has any insight about whether it's the best option out there? I was expecting something made of a harder metal than Aluminum, but maybe it's fine...
Just looking for insight before spending the money and trusting it!
