Mini One engine cutting out whilst stationary

I recently acquired a 2007 1.4 Mini One from a family member who mentioned at the time that there had been an issue with the vehicle stalling when stationary. Heíd taken it to the garage he purchased it from (Audi/VW specialists) who were unable to identify the cause. It hadnít occurred for a few weeks after that but then today just under two weeks since I started driving it, the engine cut out at a roundabout. It was so quiet I didnít even realise. I re-stared it & it occurred again before I could even put any revs on & then a third time, no spluttering as though Iíd simply turned the engine off. I drove a couple of miles & stopped at some lights & it happened again, five times Looking back I see the issue has been raised before going back to 2007 but wondered if anyone had a definitive answer as most posts report the dealer couldnít identify an issue.
