Mini One R56 1.4 replace with 1.6

I have a 2009 mini one 1.4 petrol, it's a lovely car but it's gutless, and has horrible throttle lag. I was wondering, as the chassis and subfame are the same as a mini cooper, can a 1.6 petrol engine be bolted in? Also how can I overcome any engine management issues if I swap the two engines?
Thanks, Ollie

Don't know about the technical difficulties but I suspect you'd be better selling and buying a 1.6, it would be a lot less hassle. You'd prob end up paying more in insurance as well due to the engine swap
