Hi everyone, need your help and advice plse,I've got a mini one 2010 reg convertible.
It keeps stalling at junctions and roundabouts, only does it when it's been running a while,
Any ideas plse.
Hmm..... maybe get your EGR Valve checked out as that may be the culprit.
If you've got free AA call outs, maybe you could utilise their services and get them to check it out.
I did that with my old megane 1.9 turbo diesel and he was able to give me valuable information and what i could do, and one option which involved a EGR delete which I didn't know of.
common issue timing chain stretched it only needs to get to 4mm stretched before things start getting wrong, also hot oil get thin then that could be why only when hot at moment,, rule of thumb if over 70k on non turbo engines and as early as 40k on turbo engines as these get rev'd a lot higher most of the time. main dealer timing chain full kit sprockets and vanos etc £1000, private garage maybe £600.
i got a peugeot 207 gti here at present that had it done at 66k done by days peugeot main agents the bill was £960 including solenoid valve as well, need to have it scanned and checked correctly if is chain it will snap off top guide then jump teeth and bends all the valves then your is to a 2k bill at least
would also get inlet pipe work checked for leaks ie smoke tested this can also do what yours is doing, also the throttle body motor can play up and cause same issues,, there are a number of things it could be and with out a proper diagnostics its guess work and guess work is the mother of all mistakes and expense
Vanos solenoids about £70 each and really easy to fit, one 10mm bolt holding each one in, look at article on Pelican parts.
