Question Which coilovers to go for ?

Hi guys,

Quick question and need opinions, AP Coilover suspension kit or KW-V1 Coilover suspension kit to fit? Also does AP Coilovers manufactured by KW as I read it somewhere on the net but not sure?? This mod will go on my r56 cooper s.

There is a bit of a price difference between them

AP Coilover Kit - £470
KW-V1 from lohen - £775

Also would be nice to know if theres a big handling/comfort difference between the two?

Thanks, looking forward to hear from u guys..

Always ready for a Mini adventure!!

I can't tell you about handling or comfort as I've never been in a car with APs.

What I can say is the ride quality and handling offered by the KWs is very very good. Furthermore the KW ones have an inox coating, meaning they'll never rust. Not sure whether this is the case with the AP ones

Yeah, I heard how good the KW-v1s are but wanted to make sure if the APs are any good as there is a bit of a price difference between them. I guess you get what you pay for really . I have seen KW-v1s going for £690 on ebay but not sure to get it from ebay or lohen or any other places does them cheap ?

Fomsport does them FOMSport | Scotland's Independent MINI Specialists
Coastal racing also
Obviously lohen too

All good suppliers, but I don't think they'll be cheaper than £690...

just been having a gander - and it seems the AP Coilovers have quite a good rep in different car makes.

i think i may pay the extra and get those instead as they are apparently better than the V-Maxx and are made in the same factory as the KW and Weitec

Word on the street says KWs are best. Mainly because they're inox coated so won't rust - something thats important I suppose with you using the car daily...
