Thinking of lowering

Hi people I was thinking of lowering my r56 jcw and wondered if anyone has had it done? and there thoughts and what make they went for,as worried it will make it a lot harsher ride than it allready is! and did it really make car better?

Based on you other thread, it sounds like you need to sort the basic handling out before you make it any worse...

I have just had my New Clubman SD lowered after only a few weeks of ownership as found it had too much body roll. I chose the Eibach 40 mm lowering springs they have really improved the handling but are just as firm as factory springs but not any worse, one other good point is they have not caused the car to catch on speed bumps/kerbs which I was worried about. Cost £220 with fitting at mini matt in shifnal, shropshire.

My Mini customers love the ST coilovers. They are affordable and great for the street. They are made by KW. Come with a 5 year warranty unlike other kits on the market.

A lot of R56 owners I know run on these MINI R56, very good coilovers indeed.

I've got the Meister R Europas on my R53 too, ride quality is great, not too firm at all (even my wife doesn't complain about the ride) with the added bonus of adjustability too.
