Anyone Do Your Own Work?

I am a gearhead at heart and have been doing all my own work on my vehicles for 25 years and the Mini my wife got won't be any different--I hope. Does anyone know where to get a service and repair manual for an '07 MCS? The dealer here in town won't sell me one until the warranty is over. On every other vehicle I've owned, I get the dealer to throw in a factory service manual as part of the sale, but no luck here. Thanks much,
Bugs

Thanks for the welcome! We are enjoying the MCS very much, although I've only been allowed to drive it twice. My wife's car and all that.... Oh well, some day. If I find any info out on a repair manual I'll post it. Take care,
Bugs

Hi mate, welcome to MINI2. I had a look on ebay as they usually have things like that but thay havent got any on there at the moment. Id keep your eye on there, thats probly your best bet. Unless you email mini direct: customer.information@mini.co.uk and see if they can get you one.

Hope this helps

Adam

Thanks for the link to MINI. I'll give that a try. I really like to get the factory service manual to all my vehicles so hopefully they'll help. Take care,
Rich

The service manual would be great, but I'd really like to get ahold of the required tech/scantool and some information on how bmw handles programming & adding modules. I work on saab's all day long & you can't so much as sneeze without needing the tech2 & security access from the GM central server for everything from re-adding a window switch on the central bus to updating the ecm. With modern cars, everythings on a CAN-bus and stores it's own codes, while your standard code reader only pulls generic obd2 faults from the ecm.
