well after the conversation that was held yesterday in teh Harvester after the Mini Factory Tour I am slightly dubious.

With all these claims that people are finding higher than 170 bhp on a stock MCS

Maybe the Superchips is not gaining as much as displayed.

Personally I want to RR my stock MCS and see what I have before I spend 500 notes on this

Interesting, as the Corsa VXR , similar engine to the R56, superchips claim to get 35 bhp out of that extra, while only 22 bhp for the mini..
Maybe thats the maxuim power then...

just been speaking to a tech at superchips.

he explained that there should be more info on there website regarding this he confirmed that the map is before overboost so in reality should be 220ish BHP with the superchip on overboost i questioned why the graph they have didnt include the overboost he said that because the overboost has certain criterias to work that when the rolling road it is more than likely not met i.e slowly floored in a certain gear rather than from no throttle to full throttle in one swoop.

if this is the case i would be very interested and look forward to hearing from anyone who has it done.

Apparently alot of people are finding that stock MCS are actually putting out more than 170 BHP

If that is the case then how much is actually gained

a Before and after scenario is called for I reckon and not just on 1 car, maybe several

Cheers, She is a nice little car.
But I have found a car which i will never get another opportunity to get. Its a 340+ bhp Mk4 1.8 20VT Golf and she is a real beauty. I just hope i can sell the Mini soon so i can get this other car!
