Mini cooper S Tuning I love my new Mini Cooper S R56 but I id like to make some slight modifications to the car engine wise in the UK Ive been doing a little research but what can I do to the car without voiding the warranty? I've looked at the JCW engine tuning 1 and this would be the most likely route. What else can I do to the car along with the JCW kit that would not void warranty (or what they wouldnt know does) I've been looking at alta's boost tube and turbo inlet hose's but what effect would these have on warranty? if there was to be a JCW 2 package I would wait for that but it seems like it can not be retrofitted thank you |

| The JCW kit is the only sure way to retain the warranty. There's been no official announcements on a stage 2 kit or a factory JCW as yet. Around the time of the R56 launch all rumours/sites reported there would be no JCW kits at all ever, and we know what happened there. There's going to be a JCW announcement at the Geneva motor show starting 4th March so it may be worth waiting for that. Technically you would be ok with aftermarket stuff that could be easily removed if a trip to the dealer is required but personally I wouldn't want the hassle of that, having said that my car has been back a few times now... When I thought about the JCW kit I asked my dealer about warranty issues and they said something along the lines of any aftermarket items would invalidate the warranty of that item and anything connected to it. So with engine mods that pretty much covers the whole engine if they discover a mod! |

| As mentioned, best is to stick with the JCW mods for full warranty but if you really do fancy something special without voiding the warranty, well here is a list which should be fine with the dealers: - air filter (straight panel swap ones or induction kits) - up-rated brake pads - up-rated spark plugs - up-rated ignition leads - tires and any cosmetic only enhancements The following could be permitted but better check it out with your dealer first: - exhaust - ignition coil - blow off valve (for R56 MCS) - suspension Hope this helps! |

| If you are referring to the R56 S Then its the sport cat he does. if takes the stock down pipe housing the cats and removes one. So it is still the stock down pipe with a cat missing, thus making the exhaust more free flowing. Yet if a dealer looks at the down pipe they wouldn't know anything had changed. http://www.mini2.com/forum/gt-tuning...-cooper-s.html Mary MkII | R56 Cooper S | Performance Torque'd 230bhp & 260lb/ft ![]() H&R Springs | Forge Resonator Delete Hose | Alta CAI | JCW Turbo Inlet Hose |

| Any modification has the potential to void your warranty. I think Phillip is slightly confused - evolve offer a warranty that runs alongside the Mini warranty. If the dealer refuses the warranty claim on due to our upgrade then our insurance pays out for any repairs. We have been offering this with our tunes for 2 years on high value cars (£30k +) and have never had a claim. |
