R56 Dump Valve Sound/

My Cooper S Seems to be giving a whistling noise when you give it the beans which I guess is the turbo, but then when changing gear a swish can be heard, which sounds exaclty like a quiet dump valve..any ideas why?

2007 S if that helps

Cheers
Mark

Mine does the same. It's the blow off valve which I'm assuming is the same a dump valve.

MCS (or most of normal turbo cars) don't have blow-off valve, but rather bypass adapter, so the air isn't blown into atmosphere but to turbo's cold air intake.

@hammo
If you want to hear the whoosh, just get CAI, for example from Alta.

Mini Cooper S (2007), 158 kW and 312 NM.

******** noise generator

This is probably a bit late, but what you have on the Cooper S is a ******** noise generator that attaches to the bulkhead. Thats what you can hear.
