Just considering getting a remap for my 2008 JCW.
Think I will go with Evolve, and use their "home tune package"
Just wondered with any remap, how the sport button effects anything?
I presume it just makes the throttle more sensitive, as it normally does.
Thought that if the remap made the engine more feisty, that the sport button might be too aggressive??
I'm actually in two minds to sell the JCW.......Dare I say that here!!!!!
I have had it for 6 months now, and before that I had a SEAT Leon Cupra R.
In the Leon's standard trim, the Leon felt quicker than the JCW does.
I had the Leon remapped to 260bhp, and that made a huge difference to the torque.
That's why I feel I need to remap the JCW, but still not sure it will give the same exhilaration after a remap, as the Leon did.
I know the Leon had an extra 200cc, but it was also bigger and heavier.
Although the JCW handles better.
I generally drive with the Sport button on, as I prefer the extra sensitivity of the throttle response. I feel it needs more torque.
Maybe it's a deceptive thing, and there isn't much in it between the two cars.....even after a remap.......hmmm
I have Cooper S 57 Plate and sometimes wish for more power. I could imagine shelling out £200 for some software & an hours technical time. But when were talking £500+ for a dongle & software its just never going to happen. I would have thought that if the prices came down, more updates would happen & the Re-mappers would still make the same profits. Until that happens my money stays in my pocket.
