Engine Bearings

Hi, The Bearing Dilemma..... I have been working on a 2007 MINI Cooper S r56 N14.

For one reason or another I discovered that though my MINI was running well its cylinders were in a bad way. So I pulled the engine and am rebuilding it.

I have a beautifully honed block and new pistons to match. I would like to get new engine bearings however Ive run into some difficulty.

The information I have for selecting the main bearings calls for codes on the crankshaft, and the top and bottom halves of the block. My machinist and I only found the block code on the top half, left of the oil filter housing.

To make matters worse there are no sizes in the parts descriptions. so I can not just measure.

I have also not found any other manufacturers that make N14 bearings.

I have asked MINI staff for help but they have no further information to share. I have considered getting some test bearings to measure but I have been told it would take up to 5 weeks, double that and it would be 10 weeks.

Does anyone know the proper specifications for the bearings and where I can get them?

Hi, Actually I was looking at the cat cams they have on there site, so I left them a message. Does any one know the bearing clearances? The Bently manual I have leaves this stuff out. Thanks
