can anyone tell me if a solid flywheel conversion kit is available for the R56 mini cooper d range ?? been looking on net but cant seem to find anything?? failing this can anyone tell me what other motors use the same gearbox so i can try and find out if they do a kit
i'm personally not a fan of these conversions the drive line is designed lighter because it designed with dmf in it to deal with shocks and loads , also the gear changes can be effected. valeo clutches do the kits
better kit and are so much better C & G Motorsports link below not the cheapest but are the best by far, also do carbon clutch plates ..very company i had a few alfa romeo clutches off them and were very good
When I was getting quotes to change the clutch and flywheel on my 58 clubman D last year, every company said a conversion was available but none of them would do it.
i think the sellers of these kits had so much hassle from people buying them to find its nothing like as smooth as a dmf standard set up , the ones i have seen for vag stuff some kits were cast flywheels and were terrible, i know we put them in a couple transit tippers and heavy use and they both needed gearboxes soon after, all that shock and vibration has to go somewhere
