Dump valves are so chavvy! I'm into cars and I'm only 25 but why would you want your car to sound like it's sneezing every time you change gear?

Chav options like this are what end up de-valuing cars like mine and your JCW. I doubt they will have any benefit to a modern turbo engine which means they're purely for the noise-factor.

If you want to impress people, take them out in it.

dump valves chavy,,what a stupid thing to say and as for only 25 ...so what .interested in the anti stalling properties of BOV's as a way of increasing linear power delivery with a view of increasing power (through OBD plug).if i wanted to impress would go out in my E90 m3 .that should stir things up a bit.

Oooooh someone gets worked up easily.

I'm entitled to my own opinion... you'd probably disagree with my thoughts on M3's as well

I've seen (or heard) an R56S with a BOV fitted back at MINI United in 2007, can't say who it was or who fitted it I'm afraid, but have seen it done.

I'm not a fan I have to say, I'd rather leave the pssssst noise to the jap boys with their sccobys and evos It just doesn't befit the MINI in my opinion.

But each to their own

I believe the factory JCW has a small dump valve as standard anyway! I can't say I'm a fan of huge psssssses either...

The small psst you get as standard is ample IMHO

Yes you read right, they are some what cavvy. This seem to be a popular opinion however as all things MINI each to there own. However I can confirm you will see no noticeable gain in BHP or Torque, it is purely for the noise.

If you want performance, it would need to be a remap, intercooler, muffler delete pipe. The JCW eaxust system is as free flowing as any aftermarket system so that will save a few pennys, however removing all the cats will get you an extra 10-12BHP (not for road use).

My advice would be to fit an Alta induction kit, it will give you more induction noise and you wont have to buy some rockports.

PS, I'm not impressed by your M3 comment, sorry .

(maybe there not all driving Audi's after all Mr Clarkson)

Fitting any open air filter to an MCS allows you to hear the stock valve much more loudly. It will sound almost the same as fitting the Forge blow off adapter. Also you may loose low end torque and power between gear changes.

Funny how a valve is chavvy but a filter isn't.

Each to their own, it's your car, do what you like to it...

Having seen both in use I can safely say that the induction kit is lot more subtle in terms of the pssss noise as there will still be no dump to atmosphere .
