After seeing it yesterday, i like the colour, but would have looked better with black roof,.
And the price £34k.. i think NOT...Its not enough different to justify that.. At least it should come with the Reacro Seats as standard...
The GP is still the best limited edtition Mini has made...

Excellent though it looks, £34k is a staggering amount of money for basically a top spec special edition Mini.

I am interested in the Harman Kardon Hi-Fi System though, is that likely to appear as an option on all Minis at some point?

I spoke to the guys from MINI PR and management about that and they said something along the lines of "No. Well, certainly not any time soon, otherwise it wouldn't be exclusive".

We've heard that before though, haven't we?

Certainly have. The JCW 160mph speedo certainly didn't stay exclusive for long

I have to say that I have always liked having the "uber" MINI and had 4 x MCSs from June 02to 08.08 when I got a MINI JCW. I passed on the GP because of the lack of a rear seat (needed for the school run). I will pass on the WC50 because of cost. I have long advocated a proper JCW ("EVO") with all the JCW kit as standard, carbon, SW, seats, suspension and a Chilli etc etc. It hurts me to pay for seats. suspension etc and then have to junk only to pay for the replacements to be supplied and fitted. At £33k you are into some serious cars and even more serious lightly used cars. MINI take note. I would pay up to say £27.5k for a full JCW spec car hopefully remapped to 240bhp but not a penny more. Wish them well shifting 100 at £35k in the UK!

i saw this car at MINI United at the weekend and its lovely...but i can't help thinking its well over priced!!

There are no mechanical differences, in terms of performance it is the same as a normal JCW, whereas the GP was significantly faster and a better performer.

Also, it only has the standard 17inch challenge wheels, and i just find it difficult to justify a JCW being 35 grand when its not even a lovely colour combination!!!

My local dealer group are already inviting 'interest' in the car ahead of pricing so presumably they have 1 or 2 allocated accross their 5 dealerships so they must be worried about being lumbered - include me out at the indicative price! If it was £10k to change for my 08.08 JCW 50k miler in September I might consider it.

6 disc CD change- no thanks!

Why would anybody use this? will have USB so ipod kills thr changer

spec for spec sake

Discussing at Mini Utd that better option we would have preferred to see was a stripped out lighter version of the factory jcw

Also whlst car looks ok in flesh (im no fan of BRG) i think a better colour combination could have been thought of.

The point of the colour is to relate back to Cooper racing colours.

that is a ridiculous price for what is basically a JCW with some added extras. Who the hell is going to invest 30 grand fo a mini when they can buy an RS Focus for 25 grand and cars like the 261 bhp Scirocco R and Megane 250 coming out later in the year. Personally the World Champ 50 I saw at mini united looked good but would I buy one NO this for me is a step back from the GP not a step forward, a bit like the new challenge car which has less power than the old one thats why they only sold one in this country so far.

Is it or is it more to do with the fact that the current teams want to continue with their supercharged cars because they are cheaper to get parts for, and they can't afford to upgrade? An assumption there which is not backed up by any evidence.
