Yes definitely buying one, now in a position to place an order as I sold the VX220 Turbo yesterday. Just deciding what to have in it and then will ring round the dealers to see what they offer

Had a look at some off the deals on the internet (didnt do a quote on drivethedeal.com as it didnt tell you the price up front and I couldnt be bothered) and the best one I saw was £500 quid off so no better than the dealer. Im going to put the order in this weekend so ill let you all know exactly what I get off not too hopeful of getting much more off though! Anyway off topic but what does everyone think half or full leather? Is it worth the extra £500+, opinions much appreciated!

Its weird really that i have decided on a Works, before that I have had a 182 and a VX220 Turbo and in real terms for the performance they offer they were relativley cheap. My theory was to always buy what offered best bang per buck. However the image, build, performance, looks, handling and overall package have attracted me to the JCW, its funny how your preferences change. I think owning the VX has made me want a bit of performance and luxury

I personally think half leather is pointless. However, i presume you'll select the chilli pack which will provide half leather as standard. IMO, it's worth stretching for the full leather, especially if you go for heated seats. The Mini JCW is certainly an expensive car for what you get. I think if most people were honest they would acknowledge that there are a number of equally competent cars for less money. However, there are so many unique characteristics to owning a Mini that set it apart from other cars. The 182 is a good example. Great handling car but there isn't much else other than the driving experience. The VX is a very unique car and the turbo variant would wipe the floor with the JCW, but i would imagine it is a very difficult car to live with on a day to day basis. Plus, i'm 6ft 2" so would struggle to get in and out of it. You'd have to have another car, maybe two. You've owned one so you'll know better than me.I'm personally sold on the whole Mini thing, which is why i've owned 4 so far. Went to a Focus ST in the middle tuned to 280bhp and although it was a very powerful car, it didn't engage me in the same way as an MCS, nevermind a JCW.

gazcaddy - I am an MCS owner n am also looking to buy a jcw but not before this Sep (sadly!). When I looked into a few internet deals including broadspeed as recommended by TG and others sites..... seems like drivethedeal do the best deal... Anyway - I would personally go for full leather mate!

At first the dealers normally tell you £500 is their only margin for discount when your buying a new MINI, however, when i was looking to buy my JCW, i shopped around 4 different dealers, eventually, my local dealer came back with about £3,000 knocked off (mostly in dealer fit accessories because thats the area where they can move on price). Basically, just play dealers off against each other because at the end of the day, your business, especially a brand new JCW, is important to them. I recommend Soper of Lincoln, great dealer and they gave me fantastic discount. Leo

Hi Leo, if you dont mind me asking how much did you spend on the JCW (you can pm me if you like)? We are looking at about 25k so cant see them knocking 3k off but its nice to know that there is some disocount to be had. Lincoln isnt to far from me so may give them a go Thanks

Hello mate just thought I would drop in my thoughts on the situation. I have recently order a brand new Cooper D Clubman, I know its not a JCW but I'm still pretty excited! Anyway, originally I got quoted £18,100 with a few added extras, but I wanted more stuff put on. So I went to another dealership told them what I had been offered and that if they beat it I would order it from them....anyway the end result was that they offered me an additional £1800 of extras for nothing (Pepper pack up to Chili pack plus other things). I then went back to the previous dealer and said 'theyve offered me this, why didnt you??' then they offered two more extras for the same price. And I am using the scrappage scheme....so originally they said they couldn't give me more than that contribution off the price....so essentially now I am getting a 20K car for £16.5!! Have faith it can be done!!
