newbie questions

Hi picked up my 2007 jcw today - pic on my intro thread, overall very pleased and think I have a good buy. There are a couple of minor niggles (which I used to negotiate a good deal) but I'm sure that they can be easily sorted out.

1, only 1 key, do I have to go to Mini for a new one, are there alternatives?
2, Reversing sensors constantly beep in reverse, I think that this is probably down to over zealous jet washing, is there a way to test the sensors?
3, There is a very slight whiff of petrol after re - start, hard to describe but quickly clears so I think not a persistent leak, is there a history of common fuel problems?

Lots of learning to do, playing with all settings and getting used to navigating all the controls etc, any tips / shortcuts would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Bill

Hi! Post some pics!
Not sure about points 1 & 2 myself. With point 3, I had a similar smell issue which got worse and eventually the car kept cutting out after starting up. Turned out to be a problem with the high pressure fuel pump, not a cheap fix. I think in America it is an accepted re-call but not here in the UK.

new key bought from the shockingly awful stratstone Derby for £180 - with £30 discount apparently the entry pack pushes up the price
Sensors were an aftermarket cobra kit, new kit fitted - another £180 this time by the nice people at leicester car audio.
Lastly it is the HP fuel pump and I am holding off replacing it as long as possible, the car is booked in (again in Derby as it's where i work) for the turbo heat shield recall, I am expecting them to try and "sell" me a new pump

Dealer I bought it off has as predicted been less than helpful but in his defence did send me a cheque for £100 towards the reversing sensors.

Car is great, but already my confidence in not just mine but all minis is shot, what is going to go next? cam chain tensioner or will it need a decoke? I should have got a focus
