Hey everyone,

I was just talking to a friend of mine who makes it out to Petit Le Mans every year at Road Atlanta, in Georgia (obviously!). She was reminding me about the last time I went, which will be three years ago this year! So I have to make it out there this year for sure.

She also reminded me about the 'corrals' they do each year. Certain models and makes get their own corrals, depending on how many cars register to park there, and I think there's a payment involved - anything to make money... But I'm sure if we get enough people to go, it will be a lot of fun. Fun for both us and the onlookers, since the sign will read 'MINI Corral' as if it were a small event!! Great fun, okay, I'll stop now.

If you're interested, I know that Clemson University students get discounted tickets to the two day event, which concidentally is on our Fall Break this year so I've been told - AMEN!!! The date of the actual 10 hour long endurance race is October 18th. There is usually the Speedvision (Speed Channel) World Challenge race on the friday before it, the 17th.

This event is a lot of fun, but there are a few warnings I have to mention before the event so people don't get all upset with me for not telling them before hand. I myself will be staying at the track the night before. I'm not sure too much about plans for the drive down there (coming from Clemson, SC), but I do know that it will be sometime on the 17th. I stayed at the track the night before, in a friend's car, and it was a TON of fun. The big warning is that you have to be willing to not take a shower if you stay on the track, because they don't have any. They don't have any to use at the crack of dawn, which will be the time that you WILL wake up, because the P900 supercars will be doing hot laps around the track, and WILL wake up the dead if anyone brings any dead people by chance....

Its a great event, and I was just wondering if anyone was interested. If we have a big enough group and arrangements need to be made - obviously hotel rooms will need to be called after hearing about the 6AM wake up call I just mentioned - then I'll be glad to do what I can if no one else volunteers. I'll try and get some more information about this race and about the corrals, just in case.
