Offline | Reunion party @ MINI of N. Scottsdale Saturday, May 3rd, MNS had their MINI reunion party. Very nice! And the caravan and track time at Phoenix International Raceway, priceless! Sorry about the fuzziness of the last one as there were three of us in the MINI with the rear seat passenger trying to take photos while I was tossing the MINI from turn to turn! Reunion album |

Offline | Moving this over from the rally thread... great post Pflash! Well that was fun! Thanks MNS, had a great day and evening. Enjoyed a catered lunch in the middle of the Porche, Audi, Astin-Martin, Rover, BMW, MINI, Jag etc.. dealers rotunda & Roger Penske Museum overlooking the Rover off-road test drive track and all of our MINIs parked on the curves of the sport track. Best part: Caravan to Phoenix International Raceway where about 45 of us did 5 laps on PIR before the Rolex 250!!! YEEEEE HAW! I had expected that we'd be stuck doing 40 in an orderly line behind the pace car but NO! The pace car must have been doing 90 and we cut loose all over the place. What a blast. I got up to 75 myself which is OK considering I've never been on a track in my life and am totally untrained (and showed it I'm sure). Wasn't a big crowd in the stands but I'm certain we generated the biggest smiles of the day for the track workers. Then to top it off we got to watch the main event from a luxury suite with munchies and all. Be sure to look at the arial view of our line up towards the bottom of the stack. MANY PICS HERE! Turned on Speed Channel this morning and watched the 250 again! (we left befor it was over) ![]() Mike |

Offline | Nice pics! Had a great time at the rally. My wife and 3yr old son really enjoyed all the minis on display. Good food and prices on the mini accessories. Now I have less than 2 more months till my Mini arrives. Thank you Mini North Scottsdale for organizing this and I look forward to such events in the future. Rick 2002 Honda S2000 Suzuka Blue |

Offline | MNS Reunion It was a very fun day at Mini North Scottsdale on May 2d. Lots of Minis of every trim, color and option level. I am sorry I could not make it to the Raceway. Got my European Parcel Shelf installed by a Mini tech in about 45 seconds. I was going to do it my self last week but why not take advantage of MNS generous offer to have their techs do the job? What a great addition to an already great car! Those who are interested, see Matt in the parts department. When he learned about the deal Classic Mini out of Ohio (?) was offering, he beat it with no problem. Matt is a true asset to MNS. In the middle of all those Minis, it was pretty amazing to watch the Land Rovers on the test track--climbing that steep "hill" just after coming out of the water and then driving around the corner that was inclined 42 degrees...Wow. Only downside was when a total jerk (to put it mildly and to stay within the rules of the forum) arrived with a beautifully restored Mini Moke. This guy was nothing but attitude--rude & offensive in the midst of easy going, friendly Mini owners. What an *ss. Great car wasted on a pretentious idiot. |

Offline | PJL, your right, that guy with the Moke was a total jerk. I admit it was a nice Moke, but if one is going to brag about how good it is why wasn't it restored with the proper paint color? He did drop out of the local club about four years ago, you can see why. But yes, it was a very well organized event. The people at MINI of North Scottsdale really stepped up to the plate. Thanks, to Michael, Marshall, Justin, Debbie and Debbie and the rest that I just can't think of their names right now. Maybe this will put the bug in the rest of us to get together with our MINIS. Offline | Glad I wasn't the only one to notice the Moke owner's personality disorders. Before he showed his true colors, I was looking forward to talking to him about the Moke. My dad bought one in 1966 and I learned how to drive in that car when I was about 8 years old. We had it on our ranch in far west texas. It is still there, but very badly rusted out and not running. BTW, it is the original dark green! ![]() |
