Greetings! A good deal of SCMM members (more than 30) got that special call back and made it in to the Paramount Pictures Hollywood premier event Tuesday, May 20th! Hopefully you did too! That's 300 of us!

We were thinking of organizing a big pre-show dinner thing, but time might be tight. So instead, we found a spot where we can sort out our MINI's, get rid of any LA-traffic-induced brake dust and say hi. We will be meeting at:
6:00 PM!
Fairfax High School Parking Lot
7850 Melrose Ave.
West Hollywood

There are a few ways to get there. Punch up your handy map site to help you out, or join one of the handy dandy caravans! If you are in the 909, meet up at Krispy Kreme donuts at Ontario Mills to leave by 5:00PM. OC or SD? Krispy Kreme Donuts at the Block at Orange to leave by 4:00 PM. Coming down from Ventura and points north? We'll have a spot for you too very soon and you will have to leave the day before to make it on time!

Some things to keep in mind for the event...
--absolutely, under no circumstances will you allowed to bring a camera in! Paramount has stated that they will prosecute anyone that brings in any type of recording device. This means no video cameras, no digital cameras, no throw away cameras and no James bond button cams (but, if you pulls this off, let me know!)
--Make sure you baby is clean! You don't brush your teeth with frosting before going to the dentist, right?
--Radios...bring those FRS Radio's, tuned to channel 7, sub channel 21 please. What,no radio? Everybody has 'em (Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart) for about 25 bucks
--bring a jacket, maybe some water and perhaps a comfy chair. Remember, this is an outside event!

First there was a phone number posted that you should have called and left a message. You would have then received a call back with your RSVP confirmation and password. That's your invite. If you didn't so any of that, unfortuneately you will not be able to attend unless you can get the co-pilot seat for somebody that has been invited

To clear up any misconceptions about DRESS CODE:

Straight from the top at Paramount...
1. DRESS IS EXTREMELY CASUAL, Jeans, tees, sneakers! This is CONFIRMED fact!
2. You do not need to bring any food- PLENTY of snacks, goodies, and drink will be provided!
3. No cameras or recording devices!
4. ALL guests MUST bring PHOTO ID (State Diver's Lic., State ID card, or School/University ID Card)
ID is required for ALL guests and passengers because they are considering you a "drive-on" the lot- that's also why the name of your guest needs to be known- so security will let you in the front gate!
5. No other regulations/rules were specified other than trouble-makers will be "dealt-with"
6. It is a DRIVE-IN premier: they are setting up a screen, sound will come through your radio, and you WILL BE SITTING INSIDE YOUR CAR for the movie. You may also bring outdoor folding furniture ($7-$10 a chair at Target) and blankets and sit outside your car if you like.

I'm in the IE area (Rancho Cucamonga), I'd like to meet up with the caravan at Ontario Mills. Hopefully I'll get off work in time to make it...Is there anything I should do/anyone I should contact, or just show up?

Just show up! Krispy Kreme donuts at the Ontario Mills by 5:00 PM. That's the departure time. There are going to be at least 5 others I'm pretty sure, so you can't miss 'em! Of course you can email me at don.burnside@attbi.com if you need more information or have any more questions!

Minimaster, you'll be glad to know we made it in plenty of time! We actually left a few minutes after 5, and were there by about 6:15. Going that direction, even in the evenings, traffic isn't too bad (it's going eastbound you have to worry about!). That was a great event.

Thanks to the IE caravan people. Unfortunately, I don't remember anyone's name =( I'm usually good with names, but for some reason I can't recall them. I think there was a Mark (BRG Cooper?) and an Alex (BRG S?), but that's about it. Sorry guys, it was good to meet you all though, hopefully we'll see each other again at some events.
