enough to post their tax fraud strategy here! And these are the same people who wonder why our taxes are so high. For the first time in my life I have to pay more taxes tomorrow instead of getting a refund, and it doesn't bother me a bit.

WHEW Tax fraud is a federal offense punishable by a few years in prison and fines.
Someone wasn't thinking. Good luck and hopefully CA tax investigators don't read this!

A note about Tax fraud investigation... if they nab you for this... you will not walk away without needing reconstructive rectal surgery

CA likes to pin out of state platers hard too, if you give them ANY reason... example... FLA plate CA license... you'll get the ticket, pay the fine and your insurance will go up.

If you give a cop any reason to suspect you, when being pulled over, better have a good story to answer his query. but if you have a CA license, that story better be good.

I just bought my 2005 MCS a month ago and I had to go out of state to do it, or wait 6 Months for the local dealership here in Salt Lake. So i called around in So. California and found the exact one I was looking for that was selling at sticker. However, people need to be careful, because certian states (like Utah and California) colide, because they both want their sales tax and we would have paid double tax. UT 6.5% vs. CA 9% approx. So we had to ship it to the Nevada border to avoid double taxation where we then continued home to Salt Lake in our MCS. Then it took me an additional 6-8 total hours at our local DMV to get the title and regestration squared away, because even the DMV's have no clue what to do in interstate problems such as transfering car information!! Avoid at all costs.

with trying to get my plates. The people at the DMV aren't all that bright. The lady at the counter, with a big attitude gave me my plates and then said, "oops there's a problem". I said, "whats the problem?" right before she grabed the plates out of my hand. She acted like she was proud that she found a problem. Then she threw my old plates back on the counter. I then asked again, "what's the problem?" She sald, I don't know, you'll have to call the DMV". I said, " your kidding, I'm at the DMV you stupid b!tch". It turns out my MA misspelled my credit union.

Moritz Tx import into CA

bought in December at Moritz in Arlington (Dallas) TX at MSRP then drove back to San Diego. Great drive through central NM and AZ mountains. Signed TX sales tax waver (no tax). Absolutely no problem at CA DMV. Paid CA sales tax and licensing fee then went back a few weeks later once original owner certificate was mailed (FedExed) from dealership. Brecht mark-up is a rip, if anyone needs any help or advice buying out of state then let me know - mr_uu

Almost 7000 miles, couldnt stand the wait tho, had to change the oil. Old habits are hard to change I guess.
.I think the only way I'm going to have more fun with a car is when I get finished with my '26.
How 'bout you??? having fun
Picked up another job in Oceanside. Let me know what you schedule is and mabye we can get together.

Just joined the site, and I got my MINI used off of e-bay from Roadshows....Zac was great and it was a very easy transaction. It was a very good price, but I should've bought it under the "Buy it Now" button, but got in a bidding war with someone up in Washington. Now the CA DMV of course got more than their fare share of my income (since NC only has a .03 percent tax, CA gets the rest). I should've just left the car at my mom's in AZ, then brought her home in 6 mos, no sales tax then!! LUV my S....

Been There, Crashed That!!

I purchased my 2005 mini cooper convertable from Mini Of The Hamptons. I paid 22,500 ($500.00 for shipping) and paid a little under $2000.00 in taxes +$45.00 for a smog check. total: $24,545.
