I went by South Bay Mini today and spoke with Peyman.
I have never seen so many new Minis in one place! There are quite a few with the same spec although different colors.
MCS
Panther Black Leather
Premium
Sport
Chrono
Various Dashes
Some with HK
No Cold Weather Packages that I saw
They have CR/CR, PW/PW, DS/DS, PW/B, DS/B, PS/PS, HB/W, etc....they also have quite a few MCSCs, MCs and MCCs.
These all are ready to go!
Each has LoJack and some kind of paint and interior protection that is already added into the price...MSRP plus these two...but Peyman indicated that there would be the possibility of some negotiation...
Anyone that wants a Mini now and is in Southern CA....take a run down and drive home!
Disclaimer....I do not work for them. I have my MCS on order at Classic Mini and the waiting is difficult...I had to see and feel a Mini!
While they do add lojack to the cars on their lot (that's an easy moneymaker for them) when you order a car to your specs through them you don't need to get any added features and they don't charge a penny over MSRP.
I placed my order and less than a week later I had an email from miniusa saying that I was in the system awaiting an official production date (the estimate is the third week of January).
I don't work there either or have any affiliation with them aside from my business. But after having average at best (and more often much less than stellar) performance from other dealers, I feel that one who's doing things right deserves the praise.
I ordered my Feb build MCS auto from South Bay. After a little initial communication confusion (seems to be an isolated case) I'm on track and can't wait. I'd recommend their MSRP policy anytime (Nick Alexander wanted an extra $2500).
My MCS - Auto was built on 1/6/05 after being ordered on 11-20-04 from Roadshow in Memphis. I can't say enough good things about my experience so far. They will be registering it for me in CA even though I plan to fly back and drive it out, last time I drove from Memphis it took 2 days with a stop in Albq. NM.
I actually had to wait an extra couple of weeks because they didn't start building MCS-Auto's until after the 1st of the year. I'll check back in after I get it, should be around Feb 10th
PB in Carlsbad.........BTW nothing but heartburn trying to make a deal with Brecht down here!
Couldn't agree more, we went to Brecht first, but... egads... 10% markup?
4 to 6 month wait?
We called Classic, our order was placed a little over 2 months ago, and our car will be here this week. No markup, but I had to pay some shipping - still, ended up saving a little over 1k compared to Brecht and got the car in half the time.
Paul - think I could check out your MCS auto when it arrives? I'm just up the freeway in Oceanside. I'm tempted to order an MCS auto for myself.
We saw on the website that our car is currently on the boat and should arrive at the dealership in Memphis around the first week of Feb. We are going to fly out and get it so we should be able to get together around the end of next month.
Send me a PM with your email address and I'll let you know when we have the new car.
El Cajon here... went through Brecht for both cars. Got deals that worked out to my satisfaction. Might have been the time of year, but I was able to negotiate a bit.
