| JL Mini Boombox | what should i expect after getting eibachs? ey everyone ![]() i've a set of eibachs arriving in 2 weeks...and i have no idea what to expect. a fellow Mini owner on eibachs said that i'll need to have lower control arms (?) to adjust the negative camber on the front & rear. IF i don't get the control arms...what should i expect? |

| MINI2 Master | I had the Eibach springs on my Cooper, it looked good lowered but I won't say much for the ride quality. It's a firm ride, not comfortable at all on Irish roads (because we have more potholes than while lines) but if the surfaces are ok where you are then you'll prob be fine. I didn't bother with rear control arms or anything like that and I didn't notice any wearing ![]() |

Offline | For what it's worth. I have JCW Cooper S, have the following suspension mods -Eibach Sport Springs -Adjustable Koni dampers -Adjustable top strut tower mounts for camber and castor -polyurethane bushes -front and rear strut braces -adjustable rear lower control arms If you're just altering the springs the ride shall be a little firmer but also consider replacing the damper as the standard units are not valved to effectively to match the higher spring rate of the Eibachs. Your car will be lower but the ride will not be as effectively damped by the standard dampers(shocks). This may not be aconcern for you but the ride may not be quite as good as you presently have. You may find that you may choose to replace the dampers at a later date. The rear lower control arms may need to be replaced unles your car is a very very recent buld date that has adjustable rear lower control arms. The camber at the rear is increased dramatically as you lower the vehicle and this needs to be adjusted to a correct specification after lowering. All this should and can be explained to you by the suppliers of the springs. I hope this has helped, Cheers Harry on two wheels.... |

![]() Oh good grief! | You don't say how low you're going. I've had a 20 cm lower using eibachs on my cooper. I feel it is a nice compromise between the way the 17'' s spokes sit within the arches and a car that is practical for everyday work use, i.e tackling speed humps during town driving! |

Offline | HAHA Thats funny! I take it you don't have yours lowered then? My minis lowered 15mm and i have 18" khan alloys on. I live in the yorshire dales so i know a thing about crappy country roads. Mine has never rubbed or scraped. (15mm with eibach cos the cooper s is already loxered 15mm over the standard cars) |
