cooper s is it lower than cooper standard?

Just a general queation is the cooper s lower than the cooper standard as i am wanting to lower my cooper s on 18z and if i opt for the coil overs it wont be a problem but if i opt for a spring it will be lowered a set amount so i am just wanting to no what would be the best set up?

I no 30 to 35 is the norm and i would be more thsanhapopy with that as a dont want to have a ride that is hard as hell.Just a bit better handeling with those gaps inthe arch tops nipped up

Many Thanks for any help

Phil

Scotland

are you reffering to a R56 or R53,50 etc

i own a R53 MCS and im pretty confident its fractionally lower than the cooper but not by much

think this is a general rule for the MCS vs MC for ride height

On the R53 the Cooper is not as low as the S ... unless it has the sports plus susp that is standard on the S. I believe the difference in height is very very slight.

If you look at the schamtics diagram of the MINI.

You'll See the Cooper's height is lower than the One, and the S schematic has the height the same as the One

Not sure why, think it has something to do with the standard tyres on the car. Cooper S has 16" wheels so sits slightly higher than a cooper on 15's.

Ride can be a harsh and Crashy at times, however I would rather have eibachs than standard suspension. Having said they having had eibachs now for 50+k over 2 cars I want coilovers now.

Kw Variant 2's would be cheaper and just as good as the PSS9's Think your paying a lot for the name.

There's thicker, and there's overkill but you pays your money Considering the cost between the 2 kits, think Variant 3 KW's (Adjustable Bound and Rebound as opposed to the fixed ratio of the Variant 2's) would be better and still cheaper than the PSS9's by £600.
