Hey, I read through some threads, but I lack the technical know how to really answer my own question so here it goes.

I drive on some incredibly bad roads, I recently took the car in to have it looked at, turns out I had three bent wheels, my front strut mounts were cracked, and the front control arm bushings need to be replaced (at 50k). Wheels are taken care of, but I balked at the ridiculous labor costs for installing the strut mounts and bushings. (The guy at midas told me I should just go find a shady tree, but if I insisted on paying him he would do it).

How hard is it to do this labor yourself, and how badly could I screw it up. I have a friend who is mechanically inclined and can help me out, but I wanted to know if there are any warnings or suggestions on the topic before I decide what to do.
