Offline | Cooper S springs and shocks i'm looking at lowering my 06 S. I've read threads on Eibach setup and Koni. Was wondering if anyone has use K&W springs with Koni FSD shocks or Spax RSX or VSX kits. I'm looking to see how firm the ride is and problems with bumps? ![]() |

Offline | Spax were recommended by a guy acroos the pond when I was looking for coilovers. Thing is, he had a damper blow and Carln (look down the forum) has had his blow as well, so I don't know what the quality is like on them. What sort of money are you looking at spending? You're right about Tein's, from what I've read they have a bone-jarring ride. Lies need defending all the time. The truth defends itself. |

Offline | I had seen JCW Sus on ebay for £100 last weekend which started the ball rolling. Since they so cheap I was going to buy eibach anti roll bars and powerflex bushes and do everything at once. They weren't JCW so I didn't buy them, but I still want to lower it around 20mm as I've ordered 18s and Tarox comp disks today plus JCW Calipers should be here this week. Wasn't wanting to spend to much but since I'm doing the springs may as well get shocks. Maybe £500 at the most. ![]() |

Offline | Comments like that do my head in! Why do people always associate low and stiff as best handling. My dad has coilovers on his kit car and set too stiff and low the front end just bounces out of bumps and ruts on poor roads near where they live. Soften it up and you can clear ground so much quicker. Just because a cars springs are stiff doesn't mean it will handle well under all conditions, on a smooth track fine. |

| MINI2 Regular | well no matter how you look at it coilovers are gonna be stiffer then stock FACT ![]() if someone is in the market for coilovers then surely in your their head they know that it's going to be a harder ride. otherwise they would just be buying lowering springs. alot of people just buy coilovers because they think it's cool to be able to adjust ride height. and then they moan that the ride is too stiff ![]() not a dig it's just i read this thing all the time other and other and other. they are not a toy they are made for the track |

Offline | another BS post Got my Konii Coilovers fitted, quarter turn from full soft, scraping on every bump but guess what, the ride is spectacular, fantastic. Dunno what coilovers you run but there are so many coilovers out there that will give a comparable if not better ride than stock.Lies need defending all the time. The truth defends itself. |

Offline | To a degree your right. You could put on braces and thicker antiroll bars with stock sus and it would be stiff. But stiffness and shock absorption are 2 completely different things. the ride quality would be better with Shocks and springs package than just springs. As someone said Teins would work better on track than a country road which I looking for! Teins are rock hard compared koni which i wouldn't want. Thats the point I'm trying to make and find out what would be best for me! ![]() |

Offline | Rubbish! Lowering springs are pretty much always stiffer but coilovers are adjustable!!? ![]() I thought people bought coilovers because they can adjust them to the surface. When they moan about stiffness it may not be the comfort it might be the fact the car handles bad on a rutty, potholed broken up road ![]() |

Offline | Got the Koni's at a discount which is no longer available (20% off from £700!!!) but the fitting cost me dollars which wiped the grin off my face. Give me a PM if you want some killer coilovers at a killer price that you can install yourself - and no, I ain't 'selling' , just don't want to contravene any rules. Lies need defending all the time. The truth defends itself. |
