Offline | I have the JCW upper brace and OMP bottom. I can't tell you how much difference the top brace made as it was on when I picked the car up. The bottom brace really helped though in my opinion, especially for the price. Not up on current prices but it was top & bottom for less that £100, so don't think you can go wrong with OMP. ![]() MODERN MINI - BEST COOPER NOMINEE - PLEASE VOTE FOR ME!!! |

Offline | The upper OMP makes a tincy bit fo differnce on turn in, but not enough to really make it worth while. The lower one with it though seems to work the best, some cheap ones on flea bay if you look. Hope that helps. ![]() |

Offline | A bit like what others have said; if money's tight, spend what you have got very carefully; get a good quality lower brace instead. The GTT lower brace is around £100 and is extremely effective, their lower mid brace is slightly less expensive than that and is also highly effective. Leave the upper brace until later when more funds might be available, that way you can get one that is actually going to make a real difference to the way your car handles. | New Mini Specialists | Hi, We find the OMP Brace Strut Brace very effective (especially when combined with the lower brace). How effective depends on how hard you drive and how much you have modified your suspension. In town driving you wont really notice it as the cornering force is pretty low, on a country road when you are going quicker, you will notice it more. The car should respond quicker to turn in and as the chassis is stronger/tighter the suspension will work harder. The OMP strut brace is a pretty tight fitting item under the bonnet, so you will need to apply a little more force to close it, but it does clear the battery cover/induction kit/ECU on all the cars. If you were to purchase both the lower and the upper OMP braces, they will be £110.00 including the VAT. Andrey |

Offline | Dave is right. For the £50 I paid new for mine, I love the change it made. Its not as good as the GTT one but if you cant afford £260 then the OMP is the next best option IMO! |

Offline | Has anyone noticed if fitting the OMP top brace helps to reduce the amount of dashboard rattle? ![]() The GTT one looks great and is very tempting, but I very rarely corner fast and don't intend to use it for track days, hence it's tempting to save a few quid and spend it on other more mods that are more useful to me. |

| MINI2 Regular | I have a cusco one, That makes a noticable difference, i paid around 80 quid for it from the classifieds, I'd recommend it. If you arent in a rush why dont you look out for somthing second hand? Thats a good way to save a bit of money I have added a strut brace, cooper s dampers and eibach springs to my mini one all for less than £180, Bargain! |

| What next ? | my old omp upper had begun to eat through the fuel line on my car where it dips down of the drivers side strut tower, having run both the upper and lower together and on their own, if your only going to buy one the lower makes the most difference, i now run my omp lower with my m7 upper as when i took my omp upper off my strut towers has mushroomed out |

Offline | Easy fix for that james. Just take the thing apart slide it under the fuel line and reassemble and tighten to correct settings. Fuel line then sits on top and does not rub anything....its what i did with mine. Now I have upgraded the ower again my OMP is struggling to be stiff enough to hold the car steady TBH... on the stock and lightly tuned car it was fine but as power has increased so has the flex ![]() |

Offline | I recomend the M7 Strut Tower Brace. It is also good to stop the "mushroom"-problems. If you all ready have mushroom-problems it can be difficult to apply! I used a hammer carefully!! |
