OMP Upper Strut Brace

Hi guys anyone here that has got the OMP upper strut brace can you tell me how much difference it has made and also if you have had any issues with closing the bonnet??

Please don't tell me not to go near it and to get the GTT one as I don't have the money for that!!

Thank you!!

I have the JCW upper brace and OMP bottom. I can't tell you how much difference the top brace made as it was on when I picked the car up. The bottom brace really helped though in my opinion, especially for the price. Not up on current prices but it was top & bottom for less that £100, so don't think you can go wrong with OMP.

The upper OMP makes a tincy bit fo differnce on turn in, but not enough to really make it worth while. The lower one with it though seems to work the best, some cheap ones on flea bay if you look. Hope that helps.

A bit like what others have said; if money's tight, spend what you have got very carefully; get a good quality lower brace instead. The GTT lower brace is around £100 and is extremely effective, their lower mid brace is slightly less expensive than that and is also highly effective. Leave the upper brace until later when more funds might be available, that way you can get one that is actually going to make a real difference to the way your car handles.

Hi,

We find the OMP Brace Strut Brace very effective (especially when combined with the lower brace). How effective depends on how hard you drive and how much you have modified your suspension.

In town driving you wont really notice it as the cornering force is pretty low, on a country road when you are going quicker, you will notice it more. The car should respond quicker to turn in and as the chassis is stronger/tighter the suspension will work harder.

The OMP strut brace is a pretty tight fitting item under the bonnet, so you will need to apply a little more force to close it, but it does clear the battery cover/induction kit/ECU on all the cars.

If you were to purchase both the lower and the upper OMP braces, they will be £110.00 including the VAT.

Andrey

Dave is right. For the £50 I paid new for mine, I love the change it made. Its not as good as the GTT one but if you cant afford £260 then the OMP is the next best option IMO!
