| MINI2 Newbie | eibach springs hi every1 I'm new to this site i only joined the other day,i have got a mini1 Ive had her since new back in 2005 last year i added different springs (eibach 1S) because 1 day was going round a bend not fast average 40mph and the back end just went from me which i was very surprised i read up about this and Minni's are suppose to be known for this tell me if I'm wrong, so i went and brought some springs as mentioned above to make the handling better which they dropped the back alot lower than the front but since fitted them Ive realized that its starting to wear down my tyres on the rear alot more and quickly theres no rubbing of any kind and have got 18inch wheels with federals will get pictures asap, can any1 tell me if you need to change camber or anyfing to cure this problem. Have had the car 4wheel alignment as well by the way.would be a pleasure if any1 can help .Luke |

Offline | Can't say about the mix with 18's but the geometry needs to be sorted and I think the camber does need to be twea, at least it was when I put my springs on. With regards to the back coming out, I have never heard of that, perhaps you hit a diesel spill |

Offline | I am a bit surprised at this. My MCS's vice, if it has any vice, is that it understeers too much. On the track I can't get it to oversteer at all, unless I try really hard to provoke it. I think this is pretty much the experience of people here - many people fit a stiffer anti-roll bar to reduce the understeer. It sounds like you have some geometry issues now - who did the work??? |

Online | I have 40mm eibachs and 18's and i have noticed that it does look like there is some negative camber at the rear but on my prefacelift 04 S there is no chamber adjustment (as I was told when recently had a full alignment). This tends to wear the inside edges on the rears. with regards to oversteer - lift of oversteer is ready and waiting but never had the rear come round when i havent provoked it, very planted in corners tending towards understeer (as you would expect in a mini) when pushed - JCW strut brace has been fitted too by-the-way. |
