Bay Area Mechanics Who Understand Mini Suspension Issues

Hello,

I have a 2004 Mini Cooper S. Basically no mods with a bad vibration in the steering at high speeds. Have had wheels balanced more than once.

My other Mini friends on this board think it is the strut/bushing/mushrooming issue. I need a mechanic in the Bay Area (California) who is savvy about this. Any ideas?

Have already tried a couple of local private garages with good reputations who are not thinking I know what I am talking about and scratching their heads.

Thanks,

MM

These look great. Really appreciate it. And fyi--just called Mtn. View Mini again and asked for their position on this problem and was told "the service department is on strike." No wonder I haven't been able to get hold of my favorite service provider, Jennifer.

Wonder if these folks are getting frustrated by Mini's position on ignoring some of these major issues.
