rear sway bar

replacing the rear sway bar is no simple backyard thing,, the whole subframe rear axle must be lowered about 2 inches in order to get the sway bar out,, and of course when you put it all back in place you will need to get the rear toe set again,, found this out the hard way

Thanks for the tip! That'sa good reason to do the sway bars at the same time as the rest of the suspension.

Where did you get your sway bar from? Who supplies them in the US?

2007 DS/W MCS LSD, sport suspension, Enkei RPM2 wheels
2002 EB/W MCS Sport package, Rogue intake, Borla exhaust, 15% pulley & Madness sway bar

i got mime from minimania, very nice people, before you get started on the instalation you need get all the torque specs from the bmw people ,it would be nice if they made there repair manuals avaliable, i am not sure about the mounting of the rear axle assembly to the body of the car ,they might use some type of alignment fixture at the factory when it is installed,, i only took out one of the spring shock assembly and the threeds on the two upper bolts had locktight on them,, it looks like there are about 10 bolts holding the whole thing ,, i think there are 3 on each side that you ajust the toe with, the bottom large bolt on the shock had nothing on it,, in the end i finaly gave up on the instalation, i just didn't have enough jacks to support everything, and then i got a little nervous about screwing something up,,, cheers
