Offline | Sport Suspension Plus option for Cooper The Sport Suspension Plus is an option ($500) for the base Cooper, and standard for the Cooper S. Is this suspension worth getting for the Cooper? Would the typical driver notice much difference? Thanks. Jon Noring |

| MINI2 Regular | opinion on SS plus... Having installed a coil-over suspension on my Cooper, spent a week with a Cooper S in my driveway with 16 inch rims and driven several other renditions of MINIs, here are my thoughts... If you are buying a MINI Cooper with sixteen or fifteen inch rims and are NOT planning on doing modifications to the suspension, then yes, the Sport Suspension Plus is worth the $500 (not sure what the cost is in Europe) But, if you want bigger wheels and tires, or plan on upgrading the suspension, you're better off getting the car with the least expensive suspension and installing the coil-over kit. Also, I for example live in Virginia, and travel into Washington DC alot. For that reason, having adjustable shocks is useful, because I can keep them softer in the winter, when the roads are full of potholes and then crank the dampening up for summertime for use on autocrosses and on the track. 2007 Sparkling Silver MINI Cooper S ![]() Founding Member - DCMetro MINIs |

Offline | suspension data I found a good site on the web that gives the suspension data for one vs. sport vs. sport plus. apparantly, the springs are specific to the car weight, but ss has 22.5mm front/16 rear bars, and ss+ has 24mm front/17 rear bars and the stiffer struts that come on the cooper s. check out http://omor.com/mini/ss_vs_ssp.php . |
