Offline | Hi, I got Eibach springs, 30mm drop, after installing the 18" wheels i was getting a very slight rear end rub, simply removed the little spat and hey presto, no rub. Bonnie Scotland ![]() |

| The Power Cube | Lowering suspension I would like to lower my new MCS on 17" wheels. 1) What lowering would look the best (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30) ? 2) What is actually replaced - the spring or the whole unit ? 3) How does this effect your chasis - does it pass shockwaves through to it more and increase the potential for damage ? 4) What increase is to be expected in your insurance ? 5) What makes are available - which are the best ? 6) Who will fit them - BMW or third party ? 7) Are there any road legal contraints ? 8) Other than cosmetics, what other pro's con's are associated with lowering ? Answers to these questions are appreciated... ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |

Offline | Re: Cheers If you look at your rear wheel arch you will notice a small piece of plastic that sits proud of the arch, looking at it from the side the spat is on the downward side towards the rear. You can't miss it, it looks like it holds the 2 parts of the arch together. To remove it you have to push it in towards the car, it is held in place with 2 flat clips. Hope that helps Bonnie Scotland ![]() |

Offline | EB insurance is dependant on how many mods you have. The first mod is always the most expensive no matter what what is. Mine was wheels which cost an extra 35 pounds. Exhaust came next and that cost 15 pounds. Suspension which is next will cost 15 pounds again. Stereo was different as it is insured under a seperate policy. As for the legal side of things as long as the wheels dont rub on the body work fine. Oh and if new wheels are fitted then they must not be wider then the body work. Thats what I know anyway. | The Power Cube | £30 here and there for mods like suspension is nothing in comparison to my actual insurance (£2000) £350 of which is the chilli pack. So, in the coming years I may change the shocks, air intake, exhaust etc. I'll also benefit from more no-claims discount (fingers crossed!!) ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |
