I just bought the Spax RSX 580 coilovers. A representative from a MINI aftermarket parts company said the Spax (that I bought from a different company) will make noise while turning and that I should return them. Has anyone experience this trouble with the Spax?

Ray Hampton tried the SPAX coilovers on his race MCS last Fall. He commented that they were noisy and didn't recommend them. That said I believe that United Auto uses them on their race Cooper. I asked their driver about them and he didn't have any complaints but that is a race only car-not street driven. Generally coilovers will give you more adjustability but a less comfortable ride than just replacing the springs and/or shocks. If your goal is to lower the car a little and not an all out track setup then I would just go with H Sport springs.
