Smoother ride than my one

My one has been in garage for new roof lining and was given a cooper as a courtesy car. I know the suspension set up is different but I did notice that the cooper felt more of a quality ride and glided over any bumps whereas my one feels much more raw when travelling over rougher terrain. Is there anything I can get done to bring this up to cooper standard without costing an arm or a leg??

Think the main thing is the anti-roll bar at the back that the one does not have.
I'm currently trying to upgrade my Mercedes so it rides as nicely as our cooper !

They also changed the shock damping at some point in the current production year to not be as harsh--perhaps this is the difference?

That could be it then.

I drove a Copoer recently on the same weels as mine (15") and thought the ride felt very similar to mine.

Could be wrong but I think it was only the dampers for the sports susp + that was altered.

When I drove the Cooper S Works on 17's I thought the ride was much smoother than my Cooper Works on 16's. Both have SS+ and I was thinking that the 17's would have been harsher.

I've driven various MINI's with standard, SS and SS+ on all different wheels sizes and there seems to be no consistancy with the suspension set-up.

You drive two supposedly identical cars and the ride seems different in each. I think BMW have played around with the suspension setting a lot in it's life time.

It was acceptable in the 80's
