sport-plus suspension, what exactly

miniusa says on a Cooper for $500 you can get
'sport plus suspension with stiffer sway bars'.

Does that mean the only difference between sport
and sport plus is the sway bars ?

Now that is a bit steep at $500, it's only £100 here in the UK, so that's about $150!
It's all a matter of taste I think, you really need to test drive both before making a commitment. Both cars are very good but most people here end up with SS+ as it comes with the "chilli" pack, which is good value for money.

i think it also has stiffer dampers and higher spring rates.

Oh yeah, in the true American to Engish translation to avoid any confusion, sway bars = anti-roll bars

In driving the Cooper and Cooper S back to back, I didn't notice much, if any, difference in the handling. Both cars handled extremely well with the Cooper S having a slightly more stiff ride.

Officially, the difference between the SSP and SSP+ is stiffer bars AND springs, but NOT shocks/dampers.

SS = sport suspension
SSP = sport suspension plus

Hopefully there will be a bunch of Cooper S buyers who
go to tuners for new suspensions, and I can pick up
their fresh barely used SSP parts.

And hopefully there's no obscure and expensive spring
perch adjusters, bushings, or other fitting hardware
preventing swapping in an SSP for and SS.

When I get a parts CD I will check that the parts for
S's SSP are the same as the Cooper's SSP.

I'd like to change the shocks to something adjustable,
anyways, it's good news that the SSP is just bars and
springs.

poor mini, dont they realize you should up the dampening rate with the spring rate...heres to porpoising at 50k miles. do you know what the spring rates are by chance? and if theyre progressive or linear springs...im assuming linear?

When I say "officially", that's just the way I've read it several places. It's never said it in any manner that lead me to believe they were changing the shocks.
