Offline | My MCS was specced with SS+ and swapped to Eibachs with tracking done after the lowering (essential IMO) cost me £80 cash and has transformed the car. Looks meaner, handles 100x better and ride is not too bad. Do get more little rattles but the car is small and running 17" alloys so I expected that ![]() |

Offline | My S on eibachs.... ride is a bit harsh on bumpy roads (18" tyres though) but superb on smooth roads and wickedly fast on track.... Cost, including springs, fitting, and check/adjust geometries as necessary £280, West Tunning. Dont know if the geometry adjustment was necessary, but would rather have it checked by a proffessional tuner rather than just thrown on by an amatuer... |

Offline | Any lowering will effect it. Checking and any alterations afterwards is not essential but IMO is recommended. Would rather they had it an extra 30mins or so and it was perfect when i got it back ![]() |

Offline | Good on you - do you want a medal ?? Any lowering of suspension components will alter geometry and angles, this can and I re-iterate the CAN alter the tracking and alignment, hence why getting it checked, IN MY OPINION, is worth while. I am not saying you have to, but for the extra bit of time and no cost it is worth it IN MY OPINION. |

Offline | bit cheeky man!! i've also done around 10 minis withou tracking on any, its not necesary, if you wanted the geometry exactly as before you would need camber corrention plates at a cost of about 400 notes, but as the name suggests they only adjustc camber, i've done everything from 11k ones to 26k jcw S's, really think we wuda noticed if the tracking was out on any of them!! edit: wot the hell mechanics do you know that will do unnecessary tracking setups for free?!?!?! ![]() HATED BY MANY...LOVED BY FEW...RESPECTED BY ALL |

Offline | Lowering a car will actually make it toe out more (front) just very slightly. If it was bang on mid limit before will ,it will probably still be in- limit. IMO it is 'good practice' to check and adjust if necessary (it may have been already out from a kerbing etc.) ,I suppose you could aliken this 'practice' to the one that also says change the v groove belt when you change the pulley. Offline | ok then, lets assume that the average person dont judge parking by bouncin ther car off the pavement, and they dont fit there springs using only a lump hammer, the tracking is not going to move!! if the springs are located properly, nothin else can move!! its all bolted into place!! you dont touch the steerin (unless u fancy fittin ur own lok limiter, summut i dont fancy so much!!) so i really dont see who its gonna shift beyond a couple of mill diff in the reassembly!!! ![]() HATED BY MANY...LOVED BY FEW...RESPECTED BY ALL |
