The whine increases a fair bit .... other than that and the extra performance theres not a huge noise difference.

Oh god yes! Especially if you go for a 17% ... I got my 15% done and the car was shockingly fast compared to standard in mid range. Get Dave or whoever to do a health check and then add the parts required to give you the most for your budget and noise/driving tastes. 15% adds a bit and is less heat generating than 17 but the 17 runs well IMO and its what i'm swapping too...especially if you fork out £300+ quid for an uprated intercooler by GTT or GRS at some point in the future.

Tell you what, if I'm there one day when you are again and my car if fixed then I'll let you have a ride in mine. Most of my power increase was from the pulley, so despite me having loads of other mods you'll get the idea.

That would be great, if I do have it done it will be in April around the same time as my MOT and service. Got to go back to ThinkMini in the next week or so to get a gtt re-route pipe fitted. Then off to Mini Pirates to get my roof done. Going to attempt to remove my current roof vinyl this weekend.
