Dave's a good man

Dave,

I would like to thank you for the work done in January.

I have held off as I have been busy and had paperwork to do prior to launching anything. Now just made redundant I can sit and type.

My car was a stock JCW cooper s and it really needed a new clutch, from reviews I purchased the clutch masters FX200 and the lightened flywheel, I was lucky to buy this early 2008 so before the pound was not so good.

With my clutch about to go I rang around to see who I trusted and also cost was in the back of my mind, I instantly trusted Dave and it felt like he had the time for me, even answers his phone!
I discussed that I have the clutch / flywheel and it needed fitting soon due to the condition of my stock parts. Dave managed to suggest a quaife LSD which for a set amount extra could be done so I signed up for that. while the car was there it also had the brake fluid changed, Dave asked me which one, I said the best... I got Motul 600 Dot 4 (very good). I further requested that my water and antifreeze was done, this again was left to Dave to put the best in. I furthered the fluid change to include the oil, again the best went in.
While there I needed to have my steering column changed and Dave sort this and also fought my warranty for me.

I thought this would be the end but Ant was selling a carbon dash and gear knob so I had them while Ant's car was there and Dave got them fitted.

Dave managed to leave a set of ebaich springs laying out for me to question, so you guessed it "fit them too Dave"

I received a call from Dave about a JCW strut bar, I wanted one and he knew it, next thing I know I have it.

I left the shop stating to Dave "if you find anything else just change it" (thats trust!) Dave changed my suspension rubbers to polyflex or something like that.

So I pick my car up after one week and if feels very different but I had to take it easy and run it in which I did! now it pulls like an animal the LSD has made a huge difference! the car came back and now has an extra 2psi? don't know where from...
The quality of the work is very good and I can't praise him enough for looking after my car and delivering as stated.

All I can say is that I look forward to Dave bringing out a modification I keep asking for... as I simply don't want to use anyone else.

Dave once again thank you for looking after my car.

Also the GPS location of the gate is N 52.25710 , W 2.26002 as for some reason if you come from the M5 with tomtom it tells you when you there but you most defiantly are not. keep driving and take the first left and first left again then look out for the castle farm sign.

I totally agree

Had a Quaife and some other bits and bobs fitted yesterday and I can't believe the improvement

Best mod you can do.

Dave and Ade are both top lads and it was great to see them again!

roll on Donnington on the 15th march

I'll 3rd that statement, Dave's a top bloke.

I was down there myself today to have the Superflex wishbone bushes and a full set of front ball joints fitted to hopefully stop an annoying rattle and dodgy handling.

Had a great day out down at ThinkMINI with Dave eager to chat MINI's, answer any questions I had, show me around the workshop and ongoing projects, point me in the direction of a top cafe with the biggest breakfast I've ever had the pleasure of (highly recommended), and then to round it off doing me a great deal on a set of BBS 17" R90's which I'd been drooling over all day.

I also had the gearbox oil changed due to a slight grumbling noise that's been apparent for a few months and I'm happy to report the noise has gone completely and the box feels so much smoother. Well worth doing.

And as for the handling/rattling suspension issue? It's all great, feels like a new car again.

I would highly recommend ThinkMINI, and will certainly be back in the future for any work I may need doing.

Thanks again Dave.

ColinM.
