Introducing,
-: The Nurburgring 2008 :-

I dont think this needs any Introduction as you know excatly what this place is.

Ive been thinking about this for a while and so have decided to get up and do something about it.

At the start of this year the plan was to get together and do the Italian Job 2008, with so many good things being heard from previous years it no doubt would have been an excellent driving experiance.

After further consideration though, it turned out it was going to be rather alot in expenses to complete so this is a really big turn down and ultimatly contributed to "not going to happen."

This is where the above comes in.

How much would you like to go to the ring? Alot? A little? Anything in the middle? Then your interested!

What i propose is a mini ring rally. We meet up in the UK on the south cost or in France or Belgium and all drive to the ring.

See and meet other mini drivers, see the amazing cars that come to the ring and see them drive!

The car park alone is like a show room!
This is an experiance not to be missed!

Theres plenty of accomodation around the ring, plenty of camp sites, no one is short of a place to stay.

Plan to get there in a day or so, Stay at the ring and area for a few days, then a drive back through Belgium and back to the ferry crossing or Euro Tunnel?

When i hear you ask? Late September or October most likely, this way it doesnt conflict with any other run that may be planned.

Edit: - Date is planned for getting there is Saturday 11 October, Practice on Sunday 12 October then Monday 13th getting our best times.

If any one is taking part in the Italian Job you can always come along and stop for a day to brake up your trip down to Italy.

This is just planning for now and gauging interests.

Ill get some more info up soon about accomodation and places to stay.

hey mess, fine idea, as i live about 90 miles from "the ring" i will take part of it. let me know more and i will gather some maniacs normaly, we are about 12 to 20 mini-drivers who visit the ring from time to time, so lets keep in contact

Add me as i will probably come. I've been a fair few times now so know what its all about. Couple of times i have driven down on the saturday morning bombed round rest of saturday and sunday and got the last tunnell back on sunday night.

Just a small advise.
Try to include a Sunday and a Monday.
Sunday for the fun, first few rounds to get a good first taste of the Ring, the athmosphere and admire other cars on the parking.
Monday will be a lot less crowded so you can concentrate more on the track itself.

I will try to be there since it is only a 1,5 hour drive for me.

To warm you up a little:
The lap of MSCT in 8.40 in his Mini, if you come close to that you can say you can drive the Ring

just for info, last time i went in september, there was 15 Mini GP's there all going round together. No uk ones though all german and swiss

Thanks for the advice aswell. I dont think the calender for 2008 has been released yet to see what days it is open. Im sure there will be plenty of choice tho

Looks like one of the best days to go there will be September 7th & 8th. With these days will give people plently of time on the sunday to go around and get some practice in and on the Monday when its alot quieter, can go around again and get your best time in
