Offline | British Car Enthusiasts Rally, 50 Mini's wanted for Sunday September 7th 2008 With thanks to the admin team for allowing me to post this! After three increasingly successful years of running this show, we're going for number four! The British Car Enthusiasts Rally 2008 will be at Wicksteed Park, Kettering, on Sunday 7th September and will again be supporting Make-A-Wish Foundation (UK). Since 1980, Make-A-Wish Foundation (UK) has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. in 2007, we raised over £1200 for this worthwhile cause, while bringing some happiness to two terminally ill children in a direct way by having them at the event as our guests for the day. In 2008 we hope to beat the amount raised, but will need all the help we can get to do so. Wicksteed Park in Kettering, Northamptonshire, is about 20mins North past Silverstone, almost at Rockingham Raceway. Entrance to Wicksteed Park is a mere £6 per car (any number of passengers), it has wonderful landscaping for outdoor picnics etc, on site food facilities and plenty of ride/arcade facilities. All in all, its a great day out to have a good laugh and spend time with friends or family of all ages. All monies from the day will go to the Make-A-Wish foundation, and they will be there to support us with one, maybe two wish children and their families. Camping is available and there are local facilities for those who wish to make more than a day of it. 2007 saw us with many displays, including the RML Le-Mans team and Formula Jedi (high revving motorbike powered single seat screamers!). ![]() Which brings me to why I am here... everyone is of course welcome, but we are aiming to have 50 Minis on display at the event, and I am looking to those who would be interested in helping us reach the target. Club display areas are also available (FOC) to those who book one in advance. And there ends my little advert and plee, I would really like to make 2008 continue the trend of being bigger and better than the previous year, anyone who would be willing to help for this fantastic cause would be very welcomed! Thank you! For contact details, please see the event flyer PDF, or for more details you can reply to this thread, or send me an email/PM. Confirmed 01. jamescalland 02. cooper_sport 03. Offline | My thanks to you both! There is no limit to numbers, except the size of the field, however it is very beneficial to know rough numbers in advance, so as to co-ordinate space! The picture above is but one corner of the field. To be honest, the original target was 50 Mini's in total, from the Austin/Morris era to the current R56, but if it is felt we could get that in post 2000 MINI alone, well... that would just be amazing! ![]() As you have probably guessed, this is not the only place the event has been advertised, but it is without doubt one of (if not, the) largest MINI groups around. Currently we're at about 10% (5 cars) in total, including yourselves, all post 2000 models. Notices have only been posted the last few days, and the event is not for just over 5 months time yet, within the first 24 hours, we have had confirmations from Jaguar, LDV, Lotus, MG and Rover enthusiast groups pledging about 50 cars in total by that point alone. - so its looking good ![]() |

| Awwww %%%% it! | Excellent event this one so i'll be there if I'm free that weekend. I'll have a word with Wollastons and see if they'd like to bring some MINIs along for those not familiar with Wicksteed Park - it's great for a family day out, fun rides, water splash, big open areas for a kick about. Take the family along and enjoy it ![]() |

Offline | I'll do my best to keep post #1 up-to-date with names / numbers to give everyone an idea of whats going on. The MINI list will span multiple sources, but individual club areas will be available if requested ![]() |
