| P.C. Red Fox | Beaulieu National Mini Cooper Day - Sunday 8th June 2008 Hello peeps! I was just wondering if anyone from here was or thinking about coming on down for the Beaulieu Mini Cooper Day? If you were unaware of what it is, its a HUGE open field at the National Motor Museum in the New Forest, with about 1000+ new and old MINIs there and not to jinx it, but the weather has been BEAUTIFUL the last few years I've been, so sun cream IS recommended! Its a great family day and if you want a change from all the cars and events going on, then you have access to the National Motor Museum and Beaulieu House. But wait for it....there's ALSO a MONORAIL! I mean...its like...Epcot on a smaller, British kinda scale.. More details can be found here: Mini Cooper Register - National Mini Cooper Day Beaulieu If you prebook your tickets you will save a couple of quid and reduce the hold up at the gate. So.....If you were coming on down and would like to join up with a few other MINI owners, then I will be organising a convoy from Winchester all the way down the M3, M27 and down the back roads to Beaulieu if you were interested in arriving in style. Pick Up Point 1 Winnall (Winchester) Tesco Car Park Aim to get there for 0845 hours We will be leaving at 0855 hours Directions From the North (A34): Head South towards Winchester. Where the A34 ends at the M3 Junction 9, at the Roundabout, take the FOURTH EXIT. After you have turned off, you will come to another roundabout, where you should take the FIRST exit into Tesco and then take the FIRST left turn to bring you into the car park where we will be. From the M3 Southbound: Turn off at Junction 9, and take the THIRD EXIT. After you have turned off, you will come to another roundabout, where you should take the FIRST exit into Tesco and then take the FIRST left turn to bring you into the car park where we will be. This Tesco has 99RON Super Unleaded!! Estimated 98.9p! (or Shell Optimax across the road) Pick Up Point 2 Rownhams Services - M27 West Bound Aim to get there for 0900 hours We will be leaving at 0920 hours Located between Junction 4 and Junction 3. If you're heading from the Portsmouth direction, turn off for the only services on the M27 and you will see us all parked up on the left. I will then lead the convoy down to Junction 2 and follow the sign posts for Beaulieu After we pull out of Rownhams, we will travel down the M27 to JUNCTION 2! We will then take the FIRST LEFT and head along the A326 towards Totton. There are many roundabouts for about 3 miles, but these all lead to housing estates, so DON'T turn off! Its often just a case of going straight over the roundabouts...and if in doubt...if it looks like a main road, then go down it! We will then go UNDER the A35. Its the only road we go under, so if you've gone under a road, you're on the right path! Stay on the A326 for just over 8 miles from the M27 to the Applemore Roundabout. We will then take the THIRD EXIT which will take us into the New Forest and down to the Third P.U.P. to pick up the Western Peeps! Then its just a short blast down to Beaulieu. Pick Up Point 3 Beaulieu Road Train Station For people approaching from the West (The Cornwall Lot, Bournemouth) Or anyone else! Aim to get there for: 0930 hours We shall be leaving at 0950 hours From the West Follow the A31 to where it becomes Junction 1 of the M27. You need to turn off here, and follow the sign posts for Lyndhurst. Now…fair warning. Lyndhurst is crazy for traffic, particular on a Sunday. Tailbacks can reach 4 miles on a nice sunny day! When you (finally!) reach Lyndhurst, you will have to turn left to go down the High Street. Carry down the High Street so it takes you out of Lyndhurst. DO NOT TURN RIGHT JUST YET!! When you are leaving Lyndhurst, you will pass the Lyndhurst Park Hotel on your right. Turn RIGHT at the junction just past the Hotel which will be sign posted “Beaulieu B3056”. You will then go over a cattle grid if you’re going correctly! Hopefully see one or two of ya there! Arron John Dave Adrian Jo Nick T15 Matt Tizzy (Sue) Roger Terry and Christine James Calland Bigairgair (Russell) Hyper Viper (Phil + 3) Alfie Pepper (Kate + a few other MINIs from the Worthing direction!) Denise Peat729 (Pete!) Tbl Snowie (Alan and Jan) From MINI2 Yeoda and Mendip peeps! I love MINI, Laura Rusty_Cooper_S Last edited by MINI Poser : Jun 2nd, 2008 at 09:52 PM. |
