I humbly suggest it might be a very good idea to book a cancellable room while you can!

At MU 2007, there was a great variety of accommodations availabvle for everyone, including the Center Parcs and camping sites, but a lot of people stil ended up some distance away!

The question is, should one make cancellable bookings near to both Silverstone AND Donnington...or might MU 2009 end up being somewhere else altogether?

And will this also be the big 50th anniversary celebration, or is that a separate event? I don't think I can justify 2 trips back to UK for MINI events next year.....

MINI UK unoffically confirmed to me at the th British Motorshow that this IS the big 50th anniversary celebration and with be held at Silverstone due to it locationn close to Oxford!

Will not be at Donnington as that is likely to be ungoing a heck of a lot of work ready for the 2010 GP, however if I'm wrong no worries can get to Donnington in about 30 mins from my house!

The tour guide at the factory said he'd been told to not take any holiday between about April and September next year as there would be so much going on for Mini 50 Sounds expensive to me

Well, the situation for me might be o.k. anyway, since I am to meet my MINIfriend KPKalle aswell on this trip, and he had some options - I will check with him anyway, just to be certain (he talked about camping , I have only been living in a tent when I did the military service in Sweden yeeaars back )

We love camping...and if we have the choice and the weather is better than it was at Zandvoort last year then we could do so at Silverstone......in which case we'll offer up the Travelodge booking.....

So I'll join in on this thread too, to keep updated on everything.
Hope to receive news from MINI soon because collegues from Holland have been told, the clubpresidents who attended the 2007 edition would be contacted about the planning of the 2009 edition. (and maybe help too?)
We'll have to see

And now I need to look for a hotel and book about 10 to 20 rooms
