The deadline is simply that if you want to come, you follow the link to the ferry crossing and book and then follow the link to the hotel and book. The later you leave it the less likely it is to be available and the prices could change.
All you are doing is booking a ferry crossing with a cabin on the way out and a seat on the way back and a hotel room for 3 nights. Evening meals are not included.
Car and travel insurance is to be sorted by you. Many insurance companies give you free green card cover anyway (but check your own insurance company) and mini themselves cover your car for breakdowns abroad if your car is still in warranty. Personal travel insurance you sort yourselves, if you want to have it for a 3 day trip to France? You do need to apply for the new E111 credit card style card which is your "passport" to free medical care in France. You can apply on line for this from www.ehic.org.uk/InternetPROD/home.do
Speaking French is not essential - I don't!
We will be arranging trips and adventures and mini runs for this weekender for people to join in with, but they are all optional. It is going to be a lot of fun! if it wasn't I wouldn't be going.
Hope that helps but if you have any more questions or anything else you would like to know, please just ask.
Can't speak a word of the lingo either but Jacke tells me this will get me through the weekend. "Beastmaster achetera le prochain rond des boissons" hehe
